The Minimalist Sunscreen Stick: Is It Worth the Hype? My In-Depth Review

Minimalist's SPF 50 Sunscreen Stick

Get ready to have your skin protected and pampered like never before!

The Minimalist has just released their latest fragrance-free sunscreen, and the beauty community is buzzing with Excitement.

As someone with sensitive skin, I was thrilled to discover that it uses safe UV filters and is even pregnancy-safe, unlike other sunscreens from the brand.

The sunscreen stick package is in a circular design. It takes some maneuvering to reach all the areas of my face, but with a little effort, it gets the job done. I hope the brand considers a more practical design in the future, though.

Once applied, the Minimalist Sunscreen glides smoothly and evenly, leaving no white cast or tugging behind. However, as someone with Combination-dry skin, I found the finish was a bit too dewy and oily for my liking, especially during the summer months. It worked perfectly fine in air-conditioned environments but needed to blot throughout the day.

The Minimalist sunscreen stick runs out quickly due to its buttery texture. But the real test of any sunscreen is how it affects your skin, and I'm happy to report that the Minimalist sunscreen did not break me out or cause any irritation.

It contains nourishing ingredients like rice bran oil and vitamin E, leaving skin moisturized and looking healthy.

The sunscreen's moisturizing finish makes it suitable for all skin types. While advertised as lightweight, I felt it on my skin, particularly around my nose. However, it didn't irritate my eyes, and I was pleased to find that it didn't leave any residue or transfer onto my clothes.

Initially, I did notice that my face appeared dull and dark, but this effect disappeared after I cleaned my face in the evening.

When I rinsed my face, the sunscreen had a slippery texture and easily washed away, Which Questions its effectiveness during hot summer months or prolonged sun exposure. If I sweat, the sunscreen is instantly wiped-off. Unfortunately, the Minimalist sunscreen stick is not water-resistant or waterproof.

I would give the Minimalist sunscreen stick a 3.5 out of 5.

It's affordable, safe for sensitive skin, and easy to use, but the dewy finish and lack of practicality make it less appealing for my normal-dry skin type.

I recommend it for those with dry skin type or use in air-conditioned environments.

So why not try and see how it works for you? Your skin will thank you!
